Spring 2013 is the first season I really started paying attention to the beauty trends coming down the runway. Usually I’m just in it for the clothing, but this time I made an effort to more closely check out the beauty trends. I blame my friend, Charlotte. Her interest and talent in makeup has opened up a whole new world for me. I even curl my eyelashes on occasion thanks to her.

While perusing the Spring 2013 beauty trends I came upon the Altuzarra show that featured thick blue eyeliner and I immediately knew I wanted to try it. It was one of the first times I saw blue eyeliner used in a distinctly non-70′s way. So I roped Charlotte in to not only doing my makeup, but hers, as well.

I’m really impressed by the result. Both the deep indigo and the lighter grey-blue colors were so easy to wear they don’t even need to be confined to weekend wear. The rich blue hues provide a great alternative to the usual black eyeliner. And with options ranging from bold, cobalt blue to the more muted grey-blues it’s easy to find a color that fits your look and your lifestyle.
